"CARRY ON!": A Century of Swing

A tradition for over eighty years, the Massillon Tiger Swing Band is a staple of the high school football games on Friday nights.  The band’s extravagant performances include light shows, props, costumes, and narrated stories that accompany the music and choreographed steps.  The halftime shows planned by innovative directors and performed by the talented musicians and dancers make the Swing Band more than just a typical high school marching band.

The Swing Band has performed across the globe at competitions, professional sports arenas, parades, and more.  “Fanfare,” “Tiger Rag,” and “Carry On” begin each halftime show, and have seen little change throughout the decades.  Now, in the famous words of long-time announcer Robert Wenzel: It’s Showtime!
